Rafał Olbiński
Birthday date: 1943 r.
w 1969 roku ukończył studia na Wydziale Architektury Politechniki Warszawskiej. W roku 1981 wyemigrował do Stanów Zjednoczonych. Szybko zaistniał w tamtejszym środowisku i dał się poznać jako znakomity ilustrator i malarz. Od 1985 roku jest wykładowcą School of Visual Arts w Nowym Jorku. Zajmuje się również ilustracją, malarstwem, projektowaniem plakatów oraz scenografią. Zdobył ogromne uznanie na całym świecie a jego plakaty i ilustracje ukazują się regularnie na łamach takich czasopism jak Newsweek, Time, Business Week, New York Times, New Yorker. Jest twórcą bardzo pracowitym z ogromnym dorobkiem. Na swoim koncie ma już liczne plakaty dla amerykańskich oper (New York City Opera, Utah Opera, Pacific Opera San Francisco, Philadelphia Opera), scenografię operową do przedstawienia Don Giovanniego w Filadelfii. Jego prace prezentowane były na wielu wystawach w Stanach Zjednoczonych, Japonii, Francji, Niemczech i w Polsce.
